Blu Mango

Questions, answered

Everything clients and stylists ask about hand-tied hair extensions, from the hair itself to choosing a shade, caring for it, and ordering.

The hair

What are hand-tied hair extensions?

Hand-tied extensions are thin wefts of human hair sewn together by hand rather than by machine. A trained stylist installs them in rows close to the scalp, so they lie flat, feel light, and blend with your natural hair without glue or heat.

What are Blu Mango extensions made of?

Every Blu Mango weft is 100% Remy human hair with the cuticle left intact and running the same direction from root to tip. That alignment keeps the hair soft and shiny and helps it resist matting and tangling.

What does double-drawn mean?

Double-drawn means the shorter hairs are removed before the weft is tied, so the weft is as full at the ends as it is at the top. The result is a thicker, more even look from root to tip.

What lengths and amounts do you offer?

Every shade comes in 16, 20, 22 and 24 inches. You can buy a single weft for fill-ins and dimension, or a pack of five wefts for a full install.

How many shades are there?

There are 26 shades from level 1 to level 10: solid blondes, brunettes, and a true copper, plus rooted blends that melt a natural root shadow into brighter ends for an easier grow-out.

Choosing your shade

How do I choose the right extension shade?

Match the extensions to the mid-lengths and ends of your hair, not the root. If you want a soft natural shadow at the base and easier grow-out, choose a rooted shade. When in doubt, email a photo of your hair in daylight to info@blumango.hair and we will help you match it.

What is the Blu Mango Color Ring?

The Color Ring holds all 26 Blu Mango shades on one 16-inch ring, cut from the same hair as the wefts. Stylists hold it against a client's hair in their own light to pick the exact match before ordering.

Wear and care

Can I color or heat style hand-tied extensions?

Yes. Blu Mango hair is color-safe and heat-styling approved. Toning and glossing are fine in the hands of your stylist, but lightening or bleaching is not recommended. Always use a heat protectant and keep hot tools under 350°F.

How do I care for hand-tied extensions?

Wait 48 hours before the first wash, brush two to three times a day with a loop brush, wash two to three times a week with sulfate-free products, dry the rows completely, and sleep with dry hair in a loose braid on silk. The full Blu Mango care guide covers every step.

How often do hand-tied extensions need to be moved up?

Plan on a move-up about every six to eight weeks, before tension shows at the root. Your stylist sets the exact timing, since faster-growing hair needs it sooner. With good care, the same wefts can be reused through many move-ups.

Ordering

Do you offer pricing for hairstylists?

Yes. Licensed stylists can apply for a free Blu Mango pro account with their cosmetology license number, salon, and a social handle. Approval usually takes about one business day, and stylist pricing then applies automatically to every shade, length, and the Color Ring.

Can I buy Blu Mango extensions without a stylist?

Yes. Anyone can order Blu Mango directly. Hand-tied extensions should be installed by a stylist trained in hand-tied methods, and you can send your stylist to Blu Mango to set up a pro account.

Where does Blu Mango ship?

Blu Mango ships anywhere in the United States. Orders leave within two to three business days, and tracking is emailed as soon as your order ships.

What is the return policy?

Because hair is a hygiene product, all sales are final and we can't accept returns or exchanges. If anything arrives damaged or wrong, email info@blumango.hair within 48 hours with photos and we will make it right.
